On the morning of March 11th, 2022, the symposium between Chongqing University and Chongqing Electric Power Company was held in Room 213 of the First Teaching Building. Zhang Zongyi, President of Chongqing University, Ming Ju, Vice President of Chongqing University, Zhu Caichao, Chair of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, Professor Liao Ruijin, Professor Jiang Xingliang, and Zhou Xiong, Chairman and Party Secretary of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company, Si Weiguo, General Manager, Lv Yuechun, Zhang Jie, Deputy General Manager, and Chief Engineer Liu Xinyu attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ming Ju.

Ming Ju introduced the participants from both sides and gave a welcome speech. Ming Ju pointed out that in recent years, Chongqing University has accelerated the connotative, characteristic and high-quality development of “Double First-Class”. Various undertakings have continued to show the momentum of upward and rapid progress. The research-oriented disciplines of a comprehensive university have basically been formed. Historic breakthroughs have been made in key area such as the comprehensive school-running strength, educational level and academic reputation.

Lv Yuechun introduced the basic situation of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company and expressed his gratitude to Chongqing University for continuously sending high-level talents to Chongqing Electric Power Company. It is hoped that Chongqing University and Chongqing Electric Power Company will continue to expand cooperation fields, and take the construction of Chongqing University Science Center as an opportunity to jointly build a world-class smart energy exemplary project and stimulate new development vitality.

At the symposium, Liao Ruijin pointed out that he hoped to take the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement as an opportunity to deeply discuss the establishment of joint research institutes, and to enhance the cooperation in areas such as the safety of transmission and distribution equipment, advanced energy storage technology, and smart integrated energy.

Jiang Xingliang stressed the necessity of further strengthening the construction of research bases connecting with enterprises to achieve the technology application and improving the ability of research bases serving national energy safety.

Zhu Caichao, chair of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, pointed out that the joint research institute is the best carrier for talent training and technological transformation.

Zhou Xiong congratulated Chongqing University on its remarkable achievements, and hoped that the two sides would further implement the strategic cooperation agreement, build a joint research institute with characteristics, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and provide technical support for the construction of Chongqing ultra-high voltage power grid.

Zhang Zongyi reviewed the long history of Chongqing University and hoped to give full play to the resource and technology advantages of the two sides, further deepen the cooperation areas, promote the implementation of strategic planning and projects, and better serve the high-quality economic and social development of the country and the region.
